Coastwest Manufacturing’s history began in 1993 when Counter-Line’s founder Rudy Kopp expanded his company by building a 10,000 square foot facility and purchasing the equipment to start manufacturing post-formed laminate countertops. It wasn’t long before Coastwest Mfg became a significant supplier of laminate countertops in Vancouver’s lower mainland. The commitment to quick turn-around and quality workmanship brought consistent growth and the need for a larger facility in 1998. Coastwest now operates from our current factory of more than 17,500 square feet, centrally located and serves customers covering British Columbia, Alberta and the US. Our product offerings include the latest in laminate selection, styles and profiles to meet popular design trends. Our focus has never changed and now more than ever our commitment to quality and customer service remains as our cornerstone and benchmark.

About Counter-Line

In 1989 Rudy Kopp took his expertise and experience in the countertop industry to start up a business to cut, finish and install laminate countertops. What began as a small two-person shop grew into a viable little company and gained market share through local cabinet shops and contractors. Within a few years the small shop couldn’t hold the inventory required to support the growing list of customers. With the focus on the commercial market and business to business sales, it was only a matter of time before the need for a larger facility, offices and showroom. In 1993, with the establishment of Coastwest Manufacturing, the move to their own building took place. Growth continued and a second expansion into a larger facility and our current location happened in 1998. Counter-Line has widened our scope to include many more products over the years, but the most significant change to our business plan includes expanding service to the renovation and retail market through our dealers and our own showroom.
